Talented bakers, unbelievable illusions, and joyful holiday vibes. Is It Cake? Holiday brings back nine All Star bakers from past seasons - including Toronto-based hyper-realistic cake artist April Julian - for the ultimate holiday showdown, Thursday, Nov. 28 on Netflix. Across four episodes, bakers will baffle celebrity judges with their festive and delicious deceptions as they fight their way to the ultimate grand prize.
Self-taught Filipino-Canadian cake artist April Julian took home thousands of dollars in prize money over the course of her Season 1 run, claiming the runner-up spot with an impressive vintage sewing machine made entirely from cake. Since then, April’s continued success has allowed her to dive into cake artistry full-time, in addition to balancing life as a mom to her five-year-old daughter. When she’s not “cake-ing” just for the joy of it (Moo Deng cake, anyone?), April is working with big-name brands like KitchenAid, McDonald’s, Sephora, Lululemon, Xbox, and more. She was recently named a finalist in the Sculpted Cake category for the 2024 American Cake Decorating Awards.
Is It Cake? Holiday is hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Mikey Day, and features celebrity guest judges Rachel Bloom, Wayne Brady, Tiffany Haddish, Terry Crews, Sebastian Maniscalco, Hannah Berner, Sasheer Zamata, and more. Alongside April, competing bakers include Season 1’s Johnny Manganello and winner Andrew Fuller, Season 2’s Miko Kaw Hok Uy, Danya Smith, and winner Elizabeth Rowe, and Season 3’s Grace Pak, Juhjar Mann, and winner Henderson Gonzalez.
